Solidarity Sunday: Haiti, El Salvador, and Africa
Sunday, March 25th, 4-6:30 pm
Street Event on West Indiana Avenue, DeLand
Considering that immigrants have historically and continue to make America great, we stand in solidarity with the people of Haiti, El Salvador, and the continent of Africa. Their land, and naturally, the people, and culture were recently at the receiving end of demeaning language and sentiment emanating from The White House. We are proud to showcase a family-style meal inspired by these regions. We are not serving or selling alcohol because this is an event on the street. However, the event is BYOB so we encourage you to celebrate with your favorite beverages. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Florida Immigrant Coalition. MENU (subject to minor changes based on ingredients availability and quality): Ayamese, Doro Wat, Kelewele, Sukumi Wiki, Nafaqo, Jollof, Ndole, Diri ak Pwa, Pupusa. Respectfully, WE CANNOT ACCEPT GIFT CARDS or menu modifications for this event.
